Our downloadable AP Area map (pdf) shows the international war risk areas where known activity requires additional premiums to cover the high risks of operating there.

The ports, places, countries, zones or areas listed in this section are all Additional Premium areas as defined in by the Club Rules – Rule 19. The ports, places, countries, zones and areas listed shall include all harbours, offshore installations and terminals unless otherwise stated.

These areas are considered much more likely to be affected by war risks and so represent a significantly greater risk to ships that visit them.

The Club’s insurance cover is suspended for any ship that enters or “breaches” the geographical limits of any of these AP Areas. However, a bespoke short term cover can be obtained for the duration of the ship’s visit in that area upon application to the Club’s underwriting team.

The Club regularly issues circulars which define the limits of the AP areas.
